1st Blog Post!!!--Missing Leyden by: Grace Wardisiani

I miss many things about Leyden. While in the building Leyden is not just a school, it’s like a second home to me with thousands of my brothers and sisters. Every day I sit at my desk at home doing school work and look at the clock. I picture what class I would’ve been in and talking to my best friends. I miss the overall environment Leyden provides. It’s a getaway from our homes to be with those we care about outside of our immediate families. One way this happened for me was when I would go to the Writing Center after school, and Ms. Aulerich and Ms. Behne always greeted me with a smile. I’m a peer coach so on days we were slow, Ms. A, Ms Behne and I would chat. They always know what to say whether they made me laugh or smile.

Missing You

Hey there #leydenpride!  We thought we'd set up this blog to share student and staff writing in every and any genre during this trying time of shelter-in-place due to the coronavirus pandemic.  The East Leyden Writing Center has been posting prompts on Twitter since the shut-down began, and this space is a place to answer some of those prompts if you'd like to share your writing.  Every week we'll post a prompt.  Email your creation to gcaneva@leyden212.org and Mrs. Caneva and the Writing Center will publish it here!  It can be any genre you like--nonfiction, fiction, poetry, comics, etc. And remember, this is a public blog, so be mindful of your writing.   Here goes:  What have you been missing most about Leyden?
